Matrimony

and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, no human being must separate.
(Mark 10: 8-9)

The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a women establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.

Requirements

  1. Must be a registered member of the parish or live within the surrounding boundaries. If neither applies, must provide a “Letter of Permission” from home parish.
  2. Couple needs to first decide which priest they would like to preside over wedding ceremony.
  3. Then an appointment needs to be made with priest of choice.
  4. Couples are asked to participate in a marriage preparation program. Priest can discuss and recommend which program would best fit your personal preparation of marriage.
    1. The Engaged Encounter Weekend; or
    2. The Communication Encounter Weekend; or
    3. Evenings for the Engaged and Natural Family Planning

Required Documents

  1. New certificate of Baptism for Catholics (old or photo copies cannot be accepted). If possible for Non-Catholics Christians certificate or record of Baptism .
  2. First Communion and Confirmation certificates for Catholics.
  3. Two affidavits of freedom to marry for each party to be signed by a member of the family or competent witness in the presence of a priest or notary.
  4. Dispensation for disparity of worship or mixed religion is assisted by the priest.
  5. Marriage license from the State of California.

Financial Offering

A $100 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. The deposit will be credited towards the total cost of the wedding fee. Below is an itemization of cost:

  • Church - $300
  • Coordinator - $85
  • Priest/Deacon - Optional (suggested $50 donation)
  • Altar Servers (2) - $15 each
  • Choir - $300
  • Cantor - $125
  • Organist - $125
